Welcome!

Hello, everyone! My name is Caroline Shannon-Karasik and I am the founder of The G-Spot Revolution.

Welcome!

I launched The G-Spot in January 2011 and since then I have found it to be monumental in not only helping me to discover my personal health journey, but learning how I might help other people recognize their wellness potential. Now, before I let your imaginations run wild, let me tell you a story about why I decided to create The G-Spot Revolution.

I have spent the majority of my life working to understand and learn about health and wellness. I mean, I was the eleven-year-old who created “Get healthy!” motivational plans for myself and spent countless hours reading nutrition books. The moment I understood the connection between what I was putting into my body (and what I was doing with it), I wanted to learn and read and suck it all in! I loved it.

But even with all of that knowledge, I have also spent a large chunk of my life feeling rather miserable. Sure, I was a long distance runner and snacking on spinach in the midst of all of it — but there was always something getting in the way.

Exhaustion, stomach pain, migraines, depression, itchy skin rashes, bathroom experiences I will trust you don’t want to know about ….

… and I had no idea how to fix it EXCEPT for the fact that deep down I knew it had to be solvable by that time-old lesson I had learned long ago: Somehow, in some way this had something to do with what I was feeding my body.

Along the way, I went to countless doctors, described my symptoms and wound up with nada. I received diagnoses of It’s-all-in-your-head to, well, you just might have cancer. I have had blood tests, bone marrow biopsies, prescriptions — you name it.

And nothing. No one could figure it out.

But then, it happened — have you ever had that moment where things that have been there all along seem to JUMP OUT at you when you are trying your hardest to find an answer?

All of a sudden I started hearing and seeing more and more about gluten this and gluten that … and I was like, hey, who is this gluten character anyway?

Before I knew it, I was reading descriptions and case studies of people who sounded just like me and … many long days and nights later …. I discovered …

Yep, you have Celiac disease.

I can’t tell you just how angry I was for all of the time, miserable stomachaches, poking and prodding that I had spent trying to figure that out — and I never want anyone to have to experience that again.

Now, I’m not claiming to be superwoman, but know this: The G-Spot Revolution was created with you in mind. I understand the quest for health knowledge that so many of us have, and I want to share those findings and experience with you. I also know that what works for one chica(o) might not work for the next.

AND THAT’S OK.

The G-Spot is a gluten-free blog that also tries its darnedest to cater to vegans, vegetarians, nut-free dudes, soy-less gals, runners, walkers or aerobics queens. If you LOVE all things health-related, then my goal is to help you find the spot where you feel your best.

Your G-Spot!

Because I truly do believe that no two spots are created equal and that’s what makes you so especially you.

So  –– WELCOME! Enjoy and get ready for some fun. I’m so excited to introduce to you — THE G-SPOT REVOLUTION!

Thank you so much for your website. Like you, I had unexplained health problems that never had an answer. Despite the fact that I led wilderness trips, ate organic, and practiced yoga regularly, I always had stomach aches and bathroom experiences that need not be described. No doctor knew what was going on, and I began to wonder if I wasn’t making it all up. It wasn’t until a health food store offered a free consult with their nutritionist in training that I even considered it was gluten causing the problem. Sure enough, cutting down reduced my problems, cutting it out eliminated them.

Now I am living in Brazil where it is pretty tough to be gluten-free and meat-free at the same time. I love you recipes and would welcome more that don’t call for any packaged ingredients (such as g-free flour, as I can’t find it here) . Because of your brown rice flour demo, I am thinking of buying a Vitamix and having it shipped to me here.

Thank you again.
