Poker is a family of comparing card games in which players wager over which hand is best. The game is played worldwide, but rules vary.<\/p>\n

Each round of betting begins with a deal, when one or more cards are dealt to each player. The players may be dealing with a single deck or with a deck plus an extra deck, and the cards may be face up or face down, depending on the particular variant of the game being played.<\/p>\n
The player to the left of the dealer may “call” or “raise,” putting in the same number of chips as the previous player; or they may “drop,” putting in no chips and discarding their hand. When a player drops, they lose any chips that have put into that pot, and are out of the betting until the next deal.<\/p>\n
Some of the best poker players are highly cautious, but they are not afraid to make bold bets. They do not get distracted by their own emotional state, and instead focus on that of their opponents.
